Overview
The Japanese Language School Teachers Association (JALSTA) organized a farewell workshop conducted by outgoing Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteers (JOCVs), Mr. Togami Jun and Mr. Okamoto Rei on 20 July 2024. The workshop aimed to provide a platform for Japanese language teachers in the Delhi NCR region to benefit from the extensive experience of these dedicated educators before their departure from India.
Workshop Highlights
Expert Facilitation: Mr. Togami and Mr. Okamoto, with their rich experience at Arwachin International School and Bluebells School International respectively, imparted invaluable insights into effective Japanese language pedagogy.
Curriculum Alignment at school : The workshop focused on aligning teaching methodologies within the CBSE curriculum, ensuring that participants gained practical strategies to enhance student learning outcomes while teaching japanese . The focus was culture ,PBL, kanji , comprehension skills, lesson planning , kyouan making etc .Â
Professional Development: Participants had the opportunity to engage in discussions on the latest trends and best practices in Japanese language education, contributing to their overall professional growth.
Knowledge Sharing: The workshop fostered a collaborative environment where teachers exchanged experiences and ideas, enriching the learning experience for all attendees.
Teacher Training: Ms. Okumura from JFND presented the teacher training program offered by MEA JFND , outlining the benefits and opportunities for professional development.
Scholarship Program: Ms. Kasamaki from MITSUI & CO. INDIA PVT. LTD. introduced the scholarship program available for high school students, encouraging participants to explore this avenue for their students.
JALSTA Initiatives: The workshop concluded with a presentation on JALSTA's upcoming initiatives for the 2024-25 academic year, including mini-camps, Olympiads, workshops, teacher training trips to Japan, and student exchange programs
Farewell Tribute: The workshop served as a heartfelt farewell to Mr. Togami and Mr. Okamoto, acknowledging their significant contributions to Japanese language education in Indian schools .
